My Broken Words

Postcards that I have designed two distinctive cover options. One is the previous illustration that I have used in my poster, while the alternative design explores an inventive interplay of typography elements commonly used in my animation film. Leveraging the envelope tool, I adeptly orchestrated the arrangement of fonts, seamlessly weaving them into a harmonious composition that seamlessly amalgamates sophistication with readability.

The design process for the film poster was initiated by drawing inspiration from a particular animation shot that I truly admired, finding it fitting for the overall poster theme. I experimented with the size variations of the "Magical Wonder" font, which I used in my animation. To enhance the visual impact and establish a connection to the struggles faced by stutterers in spoken language, I incorporated a subtle yellow color in the poster title word "Broken" and on the lips of the character.

The animation titled “ My Broken Words” adopts a comprehensive approach, commencing with rigorous research and in-depth comprehension of the phenomenon of stuttering. This involves an exploration of its underlying causes, the varied experiences of individuals who stutter, and the profound emotional impact it may exert on them. To achieve this, consultations with individuals who stutter, reading from reputable online resources and academic books, and experts insights from professionals in the field are pursued meticulously. The goal is to ensure the characters are well-rounded and authentic, reflecting my own experiences with speech impediments and portrayal of the stuttering issue in the animation.

The animatics were developed for this 2D animation using Adobe Animate and After Effects. Employing frame-by-frame animation posed a challenge, but it was a personally enjoyable aspect of the process. Although some experimentation was done on Procreate, it did not suit the project. Enclosed are some screenshots of the layers, showcasing the work done with Adobe Animate, which was a fulfilling experience during the project.
